Governors’ Camp home to the Big Cat Diary series, is located in the heart of the best game viewing area of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya. The camp nestles in the forest on a site originally reserved exclusively for the colonial Governors of Kenya
This is a four-day- 3 Night Air safari Package to the masai mara, the World’s famous game reserve and the jewel park of Kenya.
This 3 night, 4 day tour includes Air transport from Nairobi with up to eight Safari game drives inside the masai mara Game reserve while staying at the Governors Camp.
Governors’ Camp occupies the best wildlife viewing location in the Reserve, nestled in the riverine forest along the winding banks of the Mara River, its waters teeming with bird-life, hippo and crocodile. It is perfect for couples, families and friends wanting to experience the best of what a safari in the Masai Mara has to offer.
The entire camp is under canvas with all of the comforts of a luxury hotel. Some of the 30 tents line the riverbank, tucked into the forest they enjoy uninterrupted views over the Mara River, others have views across the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara. The tents are big, bright and allow in lots of natural light. All tents are classic safari style each with en-suite bathrooms and a private verandah. There is a bar tent with a deck overlooking the Mara River and a dining tent with amazing views over the plains.
Governors’ Camp has been awarded a Silver Eco Rating from Eco – Tourism Kenya due to our sustainable tourism practices in place in camp.
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or residence at 7.00 a.m and transfer to the Wilson airport for your morning flight to Maasai mara at 8.00 a.m arriving at 8.45 a.m. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by the Governors' Camp driver-guide and proceed to the camp with an extended morning game drive until 11.30 a.m. Check in as well as have your lunch. On these two full days, you will have an opportunity to explore the vast maasai mara reserve conservancy in two extended game drives daily, one in the morning and one in the evening. You will also have time to engage in activities like guided maasai community trip. Meal plan: {Full Board} Game drives: 6
On one or both of day 2 and 3 you may choose to have a full day game drive with packed lunch or full morning game drive with a break for lunch and an evening game drive or tour the Maasai mara reserve.
All meals dinner and overnight stay at the Governors Camp.
Have your last game drive early in the morning at 6.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. followed by breakfast. After breakfast, check out and transfer to the Musiara Airstrip for the 11.15 a.m. flight to Nairobi. You will be arriving at the Wilson airport at 1.00 p.m. We will pick you from the Airport and transfer you to the Carnivore restaurant for lunch. After lunch, transfer to your Nairobi city hotel or residence. Meal plan: {Breakfast and Lunch} Game drives: 1
