This is a short 3-day safari departing from the Costal Hotels in Mombasa/ Diani beach. The safari will take you to Tsavo East and Tsavo West, the largest park in Kenya. The park is one huge land mass only separated by the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Tsavo East is known for the large elephant the large herds of the “red” elephants as well as the big cats. Tsavo West is picturesque with rolling hills. The Park is home to the endangered black rhino and offers the best chances to see the elusive Leopard.
This is a private safari traveling in a 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser.
Among the accommodations to choose from include Voi Safari Lodge, Voi Wildlife Lodge, Satao camp, Ashnil Aruba Lodge in Tsavo East while in Tsavo Kilaguni Serena, Ngulia Safari Lodge, Rhino Valley camp or the Finch Hatton’s Camp.
Pick up from the hotel at around 6.00 am driving along Mombasa- Nairobi highway for 100 kms and a stop over for coffee and short calls. Proceed for 6 kms to Tsavo East (The largest park in Kenya which covers an area of 13,747 km2) and arrive at Bachuma. Begin the game drive en route to Aruba dam (A water hole where animals come to drink water). Physical attractions include Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau which is 300 km2, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi seasonal River and Aruba dam. You have also a chance to see animals such as red elephants, rhinos, leopards, cheetah, and giraffes. Proceed with the game drive to Ashnil Aruba Lodge where you will check in at around 1.00 pm. Have lunch and relax till 4.00 pm after which you will start another game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight Ashnil Aruba Lodge
Wake up at around 5.45 am, have a cup of coffee and start an early morning game drive before the main breakfast. This time you have a chance of seeing the big cats of Tsavo. Back to the lodge for the main breakfast at around 8.30 am followed by the last game drive in the Tsavo East National Park. Proceed to Tsavo West National park with a game drive en route to the Kilaguni serena Safari Lodge for lunch. After lunch, evening game drive will start at 3.30 p.m with a visit to the Rhino Sancuary. Return to the Kilaguni serena safari Lodge at 6.00 p.m for dinner and overnight stay.
Have an early morning game drive at 6.15 to 8.00 a.m. followed by breakfast. After breakfast, visit the famous Mzima springs as well as have your last game drive as you leave the park. Lunch will be in Voi town at the Lion Hill Lodge. After lunch drive back to Mombasa or Diani Beach arriving at 4.00 to 4.30 p.m.
