A two-night safari visiting two of the great Lakes in Kenya, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha.
Lake Nakuru , a Lake in west-central Kenya. It is one of the saline lakes of the lake system lying in the Great Rift Valley of eastern Africa. Primarily known for its many species of birds, including vast numbers of pink flamingos, Lake Nakuru also has waterbucks, impalas, and hippopotamuses. The park is home to four of the “Big five” wildlife of Africa. There is a large stable population of the Black and white rhinos.
Lake Naivasha is famous for its high populations of hippos and flamingos. There are over 1,500 hippos in the area, and you are almost guaranteed to see one. The lake is a birder’s paradise as it is home to over 400 bird species. Visit the Crescent Island, the island is has large diversity of wildlife: zebras, impalas, giraffes, wildebeests, gazelles, waterbucks, antelopes, dik-diks, steenboks, buffaloes and several other types of animals populate the island. And because there are no predators, fences or cars, visitors can walk freely among the animals. The Island is accessed by boat. While still in Naivasha, you will also visit the Hell’s gate National park, Situated just south of Lake Naivasha, Hell’s Gate National Park is the only national park in Kenya that you can explore on foot. Unlike other national parks in Kenya, there are no predators here apart from the occasional leopard sighting.
Hell’s Gate National Park is a great choice for thrill-seekers; mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking are some of the available activities.
